Becoming aware

We take so many things for granted. Our way of thinking, how families are, etc. And how could we not if we don’t have other examples at hand in our formative years. Anything around us becomes the role models of how that thing is working in the world.

it is only though live and other experiences that we get to encounter different examples of that same thing. Those new examples may reinforce the initial role models or contradict them. When we see a difference is when we can start becoming aware that perhaps what we thought was true, real and the only possible option of being was actually only a possibility, not the only possibility.

Becoming aware opens our mind up to the existence of different options. While it can be heartbreaking becoming aware that something we believed was true isn’t it can also be liberating.

If you have always lived with a negative mindset, overthinking, over analysing and judging yourself, it can be liberating to realise that not all minds are the same. Learning how other people talk to themselves and seeing the differences can help you see a different mindset is possible. You become aware that things doesn’t have to remain so negative in your head. Suddenly there is an option. You can change if you wish. And that is the first step on any journey.
